Keys to the Future – Education Changes Lives!

Education plays an important role in defining an individual’s future path. Through education we understand the world and people around us and discover our passions which, in turn, creates opportunities to positively impact our lives and the lives of others. Technology has revolutionized our lives – the way we work, learn, play, and live! Smart devices put information at our fingertips making our lives easier and more fun. Careers in technology offer so many opportunities, yet gaining an education in Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and having the tools to complete coursework in college can be a challenge for students in some communities, with cost being a key barrier.

A college degree in a STEM field has become harder for many to achieve as educational costs increase, but we can help lessen this impediment for those interested in pursuing a career in STEM! Just like a beginner or master baker needs his baking tools to be successful, STEM students need access to the basic, proper equipment (such a computer) to accelerate their learning, and maximize opportunities to practice what they learn!

The Keys to the Future Scholarship Campaign will benefit the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) under-represented students attending two-year and four-year college institutions and majoring in STEM. The scholarship is intended for the purchase of technology devices needed to accomplish their academic course work.
