AJ & Devereux Empower Special Needs Kids

Asha-Jyothi PA Chapter has partnered with Devereux, a Leading National Behavioral Healthcare Provider to support special needs kids while developing the AJ youth team’s understanding of the challenges associated with Autism and spectrum disorders. Through this partnership, the AJ youth team will raise funds for their operations and education, volunteer at Devereux, engaging with special needs kids and gaining hands-on experience. Additionally, they will organize fundraising events to support Devereux’s initiatives that support the marginalized special needs children.

In India, Asha-Jyothi will adopt special needs schools and facilitate knowledge transfer from Devereux experts to the school staff. This will enable the schools to enhance their special needs programs and provide better resources and support to the children. The partnership aims to promote a culture of inclusivity and support, while also strengthening the bond between Asha-Jyothi and Devereux.

The project’s outcomes will include enhanced understanding and empathy among the Asha-Jyothi youth team members regarding autism and spectrum disorders. It will also result in improved resources and support for special needs kids at Devereux and the adopted schools in India. Furthermore, the knowledge transfer and capacity building for school staff in India will have a lasting impact on the lives of these children.
