On September 26th, 2024, Asha-Jyothi proudly conducted its 5th Annual Check Ceremony at Deer Park Elementary School, the deserving recipient of this year’s 2024 Educate-Innovate Grant, privately funded through Educate-Innovate initiative.

The event was wonderfully organized and emceed by Roshni Puli and Vinny Thota, who did an outstanding job leading the ceremony with grace and energy, keeping the audience engaged and inspired throughout the evening.

During the event, we had the great privilege of awarding multiple schools from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) and Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) based on their participation in our 16th Annual 5K Run held on September 15th, 2024. In total, we donated a record-breaking $33,000+ matching donations from the 5K Run/Walk registrations, back to local school principals, staff, students, and their communities. Schools that participated and called out to receive funds included: Deer Park ES, Poplar Tree ES, Chantilly HS, Rocky Run MS, Waxpool ES, Greenbriar West ES, Rosalee Carter ES, Oak Hill ES, Eagle View ES, Centreville HS, Lanier MS, Centreville ES, Lunsford MS, Lees Corner ES, Brookfield ES, Navy ES, Poplar Tree ES, Broad Run HS, Liberty MS, Franklin MS, Greenbriar East ES, Union Mill ES, Madison HS, Daniels Run ES, Willow Spring ES, Stone Hill MS, Legacy ES and Frost MS. This milestone allows us to further enhance learning opportunities, foster collaboration, and increase participation with local schools, driving innovation and educational excellence in our communities.

During this event we proudly recognized the exceptional and incredible young volunteers, who were honored with the 2024 Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for their outstanding contributions. The PVSA award winners are Pranav Sirigiri, Kensha Sharma, Anisha Annainaidu, Sloka Rajeev, Anjali Addagarla, Ahana Vemuri and Manishka Sharma.

We also took the opportunity to recognize the remarkable young winners of AJ Sustainability Contest created and organized by Pranav Sirigiri. These students showed incredible creativity and commitment toward developing innovative solutions for sustainability in their communities by coming up with simple yet useful and sustainable designs. The winners are Ahana Vemuri, Rushika Varikuti, Trisha Patil and honorary mention to Anya Agarwal.
