306 students in government public schools, all below the poverty line, were sitting on the floor for all their classes. Asha-Jyothi donated benches for the schools, now the kids can sit on benches for their classes.

Details: 6 RCM (Roman Catholic Mission) Aided Schools, recognized by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, situated in surrounding villages of Unguturu mandal. These schools are lower elementary and primary schools providing free education to 306 students from grade 1 till grade 5. All the students in these schools are from various families which are below the poverty line. The education facilities provided at these schools are very minimal and are greatly dependent on the donations and contributions from local residents and the missionary. As of today, all students sit on the floor during class hours. We would like to help these schools by providing benches and desks so that students can attend and listen to classes with more interest.

As per our initial estimate these schools are in need of approximately 100 pairs of benches & desks which might cost approximately Rupees 400,000. Our estimate is based on the fact that 3 students can sit on one bench/desk. Below 6 schools were provided benches and desks :
