As part of the Educate Innovate initiative outreach in Fairfax and Loudon County (FCPS and LCPS), Asha-Jyothi donated every dollar of 2018 5K Run/Walk registration fees raised by participating schools back to the school plus an additional 50% (up to $1,000) in matching funds. Three schools (Chantilly HS, Rocky Run MS and Greenbriar West ES) all rose to the challenge with great student, staff and community participation. In addition, Asha-Jyothi decided that four additional participating schools will each receive a $500 donation.
All these funds were used towards MakerSpace/Technology needs of the school.

In total, Asha-Jyothi donated $7,760 back to local schools as a result of participation in 2018 race. This is in addition to the $106,000 that Asha-Jyothi has donated for the new Innovation Lab opened Feb 2019 in Chantilly High School. The first of its kind in Fairfax County it features 3D printing, A/V technology, robotics and a STEAM space for all students.
Participating schools received a check in the amount shown for technology, education or other programs that align with Asha-Jyothi’s charter.
