AJ volunteer is any individual who is interested in furthering its mission by donating their time. Volunteers can organize a charitable event or help AJ in its fundraising and awareness building activities.

AJ is always looking for volunteer help in executing a charitable event. A volunteer can pick an event that suites his time commitment from a campaign of his choice. Examples of such help include collecting student information, coordinating logistics for a medical camp, or stuffing and mailing yearly receipts to donors.

The need for fundraising and awareness building activities is based on the activities that AJ is undertaking at the time. Examples of such help include event registration activities, manning water stations and food stalls during 5K run, or coordinating entertainment activities. AJ strongly encourages the participation of kids to inculcate a spirit of volunteering and helping the society at a young age.

Donate
Individuals can contribute money by making a onetime donation or a monthly recurring donation to AJ. In either case, AJ strongly encourages the contributor to identify the cause that the funds should be used for. AJ will make every effort to provide as much transparency as possible to the contributor on how the funds are used. In an attempt to ensure that the contributor derives the most gratification for his kindness, AJ strongly encourages individual to play a more active role in organizing an event as opposed to simply donating money.

Champion a Cause
AJ believes that every individual is interested in being part of a good cause and understands that everyone is not fortunate enough to be able to spend time or money. Individuals in such situation can champion a cause by making AJ aware of their interest in helping someone. AJ will work with the individuals and try to find resources for the cause. AJ strongly believes that championing a cause is the first active step towards charity and fully appreciates all the initiatives to champion a cause.

Become a Member
The road to charity begins with becoming a member. Every member is a ray of light that brings a new hope to AJ and its beneficiaries. AJ welcomes everyone to become a member. Membership is free and AJ does not share its membership information with any other organization without the members consent. Being a member provides an opportunity for individuals to gain a better understanding of AJ before being actively involved by volunteering or making a donation.

Educate a Child
AJ donors can educate a child by directing their donations to the education campaign in three ways.
  1. Support the general program: The donations will be used to fund the education campaign. Donors can monitor the student's information by visiting the education campaign page on AJ website.
  2. Support a specific student in the program: The donations will be used to fund the education of specific students that donor chooses. In addition to making the student information available on the webpage, the student performance, and their status will be sent to the donor two times a year via email
AJ donors can also support students in the schools outside AJ education campaign. AJ will work with the donor to find a school volunteer to provide student information to AJ. If successful, this information will be made available to the donor via email but AJ does not guarantee providing this information. Donors may consider running their own campaign, which can also be facilitated through Asha-Jothi Your Campaign, if they plan to educate students at a school in a large scale (more than ten students).
Improve Health Care
Majority of the population in India lacks basic healthcare. Altruistic individuals that want to help face an uphill battle in ensuring that their help is reaching the people most in need. Such individuals can join hands with Asha-Jyothi and leverage its resources and expertise to achieve their charitable goals. The involvement can vary depending on the interests of the individuals.

Some examples of such involvement include:
  • Identify the individuals in need of medical care.
  • Identify the appropriate care providers to help the individuals in need and ensure proper care.
  • Organize camps to provide vaccinations and health check-ups.
  • Provide rehabilitation support by funding wheel chairs, crutches, etc.
  • Undertake public health improvement initiatives such as building water purification plants.
